Background

I began my career in Geosciences and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), where I developed a strong foundation in:
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Spatial reasoning
- Data modeling
- Scientific problem solving
I then spent six years working as a GIS Analyst, managing large geospatial datasets, designing spatial databases,
and automating analytical workflows.
While working in GIS, I increasingly moved toward scripting, automation,
and database-driven solutions - which led me to formally pursue Computer Programming and Analysis.
Software engineering became a natural progression from solving analytical problems to architecting complete systems.
My background gives me three major strengths:
Systems Thinking
Data-Centric Development
- Data integrity
- Schema design
- Indexing strategies
- Performance bottlenecks
- Data transformation pipelines
Performance & Optimization Awareness
Experience with spatial databases and analytical modeling trained me to design systems holistically - not just write isolated features.
I understand the importance of:
Working with large GIS datasets required efficient processing, memory awareness, and structured data handling - principles I now apply in backend and desktop development.
